𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥’𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞

The military operation conducted by Israel on March 18, 2025, violated the ceasefire agreement reached in January, resulting in the deaths of at least 436 Palestinians and injuring over 560 others. The majority of the deceased were women and children, including more than 180 children. According to statements from Palestinian authorities, Israel has killed over 62,000 Palestinians since 2023.

Israel has been blocking humanitarian aid being sent to Gaza for over a month now. This situation resembles the deliberate cutting off food supplies to innocent prisoners in one of the largest open-air prisons in the world, referred to as the Gaza Strip.

In January 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a preliminary ruling stating that “Israel is required to use its powers to prevent acts of genocide and to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.” However, Israel continued to carry out its violent military operation against the Palestinians people, including efforts to cut off food supplies sent to them, thereby persisting in its attempts at genocide.

Further, in March, a report by UN experts concluded that Israeli forces conducted genocidal acts against Palestinians through sexual violence and systematically destroying women’s healthcare facilities. Yet Israel continues to bombard Gaza.

While many other countries have condemned Israel’s attacks and called for a ceasefire, the United States has backed Israel in its war on Gaza and attempted to justify Israel’s violence.

Israel must recall the atrocities faced by Jews in Europe during the Second World War when the rest of the world largely stood by and watched as they were subjected to genocide. Today, Israel is the perpetrator of genocide, and the Palestinian people are its victims. This cycle of violence must end.

Israel must immediately halt its attacks, respect the ceasefire agreement and return to negotiations. Israel must respect the rights of Palestinians for full equality and respect the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes. In the end, Israel must end its occupation of Palestinian lands.

While buildings are being destroyed and countless lives are lost daily due to the bombing by the terrorist Israeli military in Palestine, the people of Myanmar are also enduring daily bombings and killings by the terrorist military junta. We deeply sympathize with the suffering of the Palestinian people and there is mutual compassion and solidarity among those who are oppressed.

In Myanmar, the Rohingya have been victims of genocide, and all Myanmar people are currently victims of an illegal and brutal coup attempt, as well as a campaign of terror by the military junta. Only standing for justice against injustice becomes wider and reaches all.

We stand strongly in solidarity with the people of Palestine against Israel and the United States. We stand up against injustice, violence, and oppression alongside our Palestinian brothers and sisters with endless determination. We all are against injustice together.
